Canicross is the sport of cross country running while attached to a dog using a hip or waist belt, harness and bungee line, which reduces shock to the dog and runner. It originated in Europe as a way to keep sled dogs fit in the off season, but has grown into a sport in it’s own right and is now very popular all over Europe. Whilst it started using traditional sled dogs such as huskies, virtually any dog can take part. It is a great way to keep you and your dog fit and healthy.
We are holding a Canicross workshop in Lough Key Forest and Activity Park on Saturday May 16th at 9am. Please see the Canicross Classes section of the shop for more information and to book.
